The 2010 Big Ten Men’s Basketball Tournament was played Thursday, March 11 through Sunday, March 14 at the Conseco Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana. All 10 games aired nationally on ESPN, ESPN2, the Big Ten Network and CBS Sports. ESPN2 carried the first two games on Thursday and the Big Ten Network aired the final game of the evening. On Friday, ESPN broadcast the first two quarterfinal games, while the Big Ten Network aired the remaining two contests. CBS Sports televised the semifinal and championship games on Saturday and Sunday, respectively. The winner (Ohio State) received an automatic bid to the 2010 NCAA Tournament.
Evan Turner of the champion Buckeyes, was named Tournament Most Outstanding Player. He was joined on the All-Tournament team by Ohio State teammates William Buford and David Lighty, former high school teammate Demetri McCamey of Illinois and Devoe Joseph of Minnesota.[1] Turner led Ohio State with a half court buzzer beater against Michigan and helped them to a double overtime victory against Illinois in the first two games and a championship game record total number of points in the finals.[2]

All Big Ten schools participated in the tournament. Teams were seeded by 2009–10 Big Ten Conference season record, with a tiebreaker system to seed teams with identical conference records. The top 5 teams received a first round bye.
